My background in Engineering, with exams in Phisics, Chemistry, Matematics, Mechanics, Geochemistry and other subjects allows me to understand many technical subjects and translate them true to the original text.

I cultivated and extended these subjects, for my work and for personal interest, with a variety of readings from scientific magazines and technical books.

I've spent 10 years working as a programmer and IT consultant (in Italy) and 6 years working in-house in 2 different software companies, as a translator (in England).

These two experiences combined, plus a genuine personal interest and daily use of a variety of software applications, in Italian and in English, allows me to provide accurate and knowledgeable services in translation and software localization.

Software and Hardware are two of my main strong subjects and where I have the longest experience, both as a translator and first hand professional knowledge.

Strictly linked to my work in the software business, I had to deal with hardware products since 1984, and translated a large number of technical documentation, both as a in-house translator and as a freelancer.

Hardware equipment, computer components, electronics, communication and other technological devices are some of my preferred and strongest subjects.

A large portion of my work, when translating technical documentation, is related to the marketing material related to the products.

Marketing translation requires a combination of technical understanding and flowing prose, which is not an easy result to achieve.

It is also necessary to understand the target audience and tone the text to the technical expertise of the intended audience, striking a balance between a text that is accessible to everyone and also precise for the most technical readers.

This kind of text is one of my favorite subjects, as it challenges both sides of my brain, the left technical side and the right linguistic side, and I have a vast experience with years of marketing translations delivered to many satisfied customers.
